Correspondence Course Assignment 5

Hi everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

I had finished workbook five of my correspondence course and had sent my finished drawing/painting to them. The workbook was about colours and I had to draw two apples (one red and one green) at the end.
I got the drawing/painting back yesterday with my grade.
I got a 1.3 and the criticism was that I should paint more translucent with my watercolours. I’ll now start with workbook six, which is about plants and flowers.

Sketchbook Page 23

Hi everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
I guess I can write something about my Zentangle inspired sketchbook pages, when I’m sharing them with you, so I’ll do that now.

I had some problems with this sketchbook page. I wanted to draw a leaf of a Monstera Deliciosa with Zentangle patterns inside, but shortly after I started, I began to not like it. ๐Ÿ˜€
My first thought was: The pattern doesn’t match the leaf. I wanted to rip the page off, but I didn’t. I wanted to continue and see what happens.

I liked the drawing after I finished the patterns. I wanted to add the colour next and used my watercolour pens.
After a few seconds, I realized that the green was too dark and one can’t see the pattern anymore (it seems lighter on the foto though).
I was frustrated and just scribbled the colour all over the leaf. I hated the drawing. ๐Ÿ˜€
I hated this page so much, but I didn’t want to rip it out so I used water to activate the watercolour. I think it looked much better after that.
In the end, I am happy with the outcome, even though I think I could have done this better. ๐Ÿ˜€

Art Block

I don’t know if I have mentioned this is my last entries, but I have a huge art block. I try to overcome it by drawing anyway, but it is so difficult. I don’t know what happend, but I’m impatient, I can’t get propotions right and I don’t try hard enough. I just scribble and everything looks terrible.

I want to overcome this art block by drawing easy things, taking time and trying to do my best. I Hope this will help.

Do you have any tips and tricks to overcome art block?

Restart

Hello everyone,

I haven’t blogged much lately.ย On the one hand, I did not paint or draw much; on the other hand, I do not know how to run such a blog and English is not my native language. I feel a bit uncomfortable writing in English, but I want to do my best. I hope I can improve the quality of this blog.

I want to write more on this blog in the future. I’ll start with informing you, that I can’t make and upload videos to my YouTube vlog in the next time, because I reseted my computer a few weeks ago and I can’t install my video editing programm again, because I can’t find it on my external hard drive… I think I have to get a new programm soon.

My current status at ILS (where I do the art course):
I skipped workbook four and I’m working with workook five now. The book is about colour theory. My grades for sketchbook one to three where: 1, 1.3 and 1.3

Also important news: I’m going to include a section especially for Zentangle on this blog soon.

I think this was everything. I hope that I’ll write soon again.

Lots of Love,
Fabienne โ™ฅ
